The JDEIS Editorial Policy defines the principles of selection, review, processing, publication and dissemination of scientific materials. It is developed in accordance with the Laws of Ukraine, orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), in particular Core Practices and Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing; San Francisco Declaration on the Evaluation of Scientific Research (DORA).
Submission of a manuscript to JDEIS implies the author(s)’ agreement with this policy.
The decision to allow publication is considered on the basis of the scientific quality of the manuscript, its compliance with the JDEIS topic and this policy. Decisions do not depend on the citizenship, ethnic origin, gender, age, religious or political beliefs, place of work, academic degree, position or source of funding of the authors. The founder provides resources to JDEIS, but does not interfere in making decisions regarding individual manuscripts and does not have the right to initiate the acceptance or rejection of a specific article.
Access model. The journal is a full (“diamond”) open access publication: all articles and issues are available free of charge to both readers and authors. There is no access embargo. Registration is not required to read the full texts.
License. Articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0): users may copy, extend, adapt, and use materials, including for commercial purposes, provided that the authorship is properly indicated, the license is referenced, and the changes are made.
The journal follows the COPE Core Practices and responds to accidental damage in accordance with COPE algorithms.
Policy on the use of artificial intelligence
JDEIS recognizes the development tools of artificial intelligence (AI) and technologies with its support, requiring transparency in their use.
Allowed (with mandatory disclosure): language editing, improving readability and style, translation, auxiliary formatting, preparation of illustrations for technical purposes.
Allowed as a research subject or tool (with a description in the methods section): model training, synthetic data generation, data analysis, software implementation. The description must be sufficient to reproduce the results: model name and version, parameters, data access, hint or reference to the repository.
Prohibited:
- indicate the AI system as the author or co-author – the AI cannot be responsible for the content;
- use AI to form the text of scientific content (problems, results, discussions, conclusions), which is presented as the author’s;
- generate or “supplement” data, measurement results, images of experiments using AI;
- generate lists of used sources using AI without checking each source against the original;
- upload manuscripts, reviews or correspondence to external AI services by reviewers and editors – this violates confidentiality.
Reviewers and editors do not delegate to AI the evaluation of the scientific content of the manuscript or the preparation of the review.
