The scientific journal Journal of Digital Engineering and Information Systems was founded in 2026 by Ivan Pulyuy Ternopil National Technical University as a specialized scientific publication in the field of digital engineering, computer science, information systems and technologies.
The journal continues the long-standing scientific and publishing traditions of the university publication “Bulletin of Ternopil National Technical University”, the publication of which was launched in 1996.
The first university scientific publication was founded in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of the Ternopil Instrument-Making Institute under the name “Bulletin of the Ternopil Instrument-Making Institute”. The journal was registered on February 6, 1996, as evidenced by a certificate of state registration of the series TR No. 190.
After the renaming of the Ivan Pulyuy Ternopil Instrument-Making Institute to the Ivan Pulyuy Ternopil State Technical University in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1563 dated December 30, 1996, the publication was re-registered under the name “Bulletin of the Ternopil State Technical University”. The certificate of state registration of the series TR No. 221 was issued on May 16, 1997.
In 2010, after the university was granted national status, the publication was named “Bulletin of the Ternopil National Technical University”. The state registration of the journal was carried out by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, as evidenced by a certificate of the series KV No. 16861-5624ПР dated June 10, 2010.
Since 1996, the “Bulletin of Ternopil National Technical University” has functioned as a scientific professional publication. In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1279 dated November 6, 2014, the journal was included in the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine in the areas of technical sciences.
At different periods, the journal published the results of fundamental and applied research in a wide range of technical, engineering and information technology specialties, in particular:
- software engineering;
- computer science and information technology;
- computer engineering;
- systems analysis;
- cybersecurity;
- metrology and information and measurement technology;
- construction and civil engineering;
- applied mathematics;
- applied mechanics;
- materials science;
- industrial mechanical engineering;
- aviation and rocket and space technology;
- metallurgy.
As of 2026, the thematic focus of the “Bulletin of Ternopil National Technical University” is concentrated mainly within the “Mechanical Engineering and Machine Building” cluster.
The establishment of the Journal of Digital Engineering and Information Systems in 2026 was the next stage in the development of the university’s publishing tradition and a response to modern trends in the digital transformation of science, technology and engineering. The new publication was formed with the aim of highlighting and further developing the information and technology direction, which has been presented in the “Bulletin of Ternopil National Technical University” for many years.
The Journal of Digital Engineering and Information Systems is focused on publishing the results of fundamental and applied research in the fields of digital engineering, software engineering, computer science, systems analysis, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, information systems and technologies, computer engineering, electronics, automation, robotics and information and measurement technologies.
In terms of its thematic focus, the scientific publication Journal of Digital Engineering and Information Systems belongs to the cluster of scientific journals “Information Technologies and Electronics”, which unites related fields of knowledge and scientific areas related to the development, research and application of digital, information, computer and electronic technologies.
